½ Bottle Project.

You either need celebrity endorsements or hook the real philanthropist to raise charity funds for worthy causes. A third alternative is thru subtle donations. Situations where you don’t even realize that you are parting with some money, yet making a difference in a needy person’s life. This coz the amount is so little that it doesn’t make a dent as a singular person, but when many people contribute, it makes a big impact. This is the premise of the ½ Bottle Project

Some highlights of this project:

  • When a customer purchases a 1/2 PROJECT beverage paying the same full price for half the stuff, the person gives away the other half to others who receive the monetary value of the half.
  • Since the 1/2 PROJECT uses the half of total sales for reproducing the product and the other half for donations to NGOs, it does not require additional cost for operations. In the process of producing the half bottles, 1/2 PROJECT packs, delivers and sells them through a charity contract after paying the existing companies for the beverage content.
  • The opposite round surface of the bottle includes the name of brands participating in the 1/2 PROJECT.
  1. Vaccine: You saved 10 children from measles today.
  2. HIV: You saved 3 AIDS patients today.
  3. Water: You provided clean drinking water to 40 people today.
  4. Education: You just provided basic education supplies to 2 children.
  5. Food: You saved 3 children from malnutrition today.
  6. Sanitary: You just contributed 5% to a USD20 latrine for better hygiene.
  7. Apparel: You just presented clean clothes to a child.

MYDNA Bookcase.

"The books you like, the CD´s you have, the photos you store, and all that objects you put on the bookcase, define a significant part of your personal identity." ~ nuh uh.

Really? I think not. This is just a fancy bookcase being sold for a ridiculous price. I dont understand why we need a video to visualize a bookcase. Useless.

IKEA should replicate this maybe sell it for $30...ill buy it =P

TAG Heuer Monaco V4.

The Monaco V4 concept watch was the first ever “belt driven” movement – and is still the only such movement to operate in the way it does. It is gimmicky sure, but it looks very cool, and still images don’t really do it justice. Another unique aspect of the watch it’s the automatic winding system. Instead of having a rotor that oscillates, it has a weight that moves in a linear fashion up and down – just like a piston almost. That movement acts to move gears that wind the mainspring. I don’t know exactly how elegant it looks in reality, but it is certainly a very interesting concept, and now reality.

Seedbomb.

Mission Seedbomb involves a bomber aircraft and charges full of the Seed Capsules. Essentially the project involves artificial dispersal of seeds over arid areas where natural vegetation has lapsed due to man-made follies like deforestation leading to desertification. MiNiBAR.

My Bar or Yours?

The concept? Simple. You check in with the concierge, they give you a key to your own fridge and then you serve yourself. A credit card or ID card left at the front desk is reclaimed after payment of the tab. Besides the wall of mini-bars which extends the length of the bar, the interior is made up of central bars (good for tweetups) and plenty of cozy spots on the long couch for lounging with friends to share a bottle of Prosecco or mix your own Bloody Marys. Next to interior design, music plays an important factor in the MiNiBAR concept. Bespoke playlists are being put together by the owners’ network of international DJs such as Carl Craig or Pilooski. Currently, the only MiNi in operation is located at 478 Prinsengracht, in  Amsterdam.

Holzweg Bike

Wood frame bikes have long given way to aluminum and space age materials but designer Arndt Menke thinks we were too hasty in giving up on one of the strongest, resilient, and lightweight natural materials. There are over 60,000 woody plants worldwide but we use less than 300 of them in a terribly unsustainable way. The Holzweg bike’s frame is totally made of wood and weighs a scant 2.3kg.

-.- i need to start biking again.

NVDRS Tape

Meet the NVDRS Tape. The most retro mp3 player ever. Encased in a regular tape enclosure this mp3 player can hold 45/60/90 min of songs (10/15/20 mp3's). Well how do you connect it to the computer? It has a built in USB connector, nifty. How do you go forward and backwards in a song? Just turn the tape using you finger or pen! Amazing.
